[arrow] Mulvane Mountain/Plains Art Fair set for June 2 and 3
  TOPEKA -- The 15th annual Mulvane Mountain/Plains Art Fair will be Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, at Washburn University, Topeka. The event will be on the east side of the campus near Whiting Field House (18th and Washburn).

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 2, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 3. Tickets are $5 at the gate; children 12 and younger are free. Coupons for $1 off on tickets can be downloaded at www.cjonline.com or www.washburn.edu/mulvane.

Eighty-eight artists from across the country will display paintings, drawings, prints, photography, jewelry and work in fiber, glass, wood, bronze, steel, ceramics and textiles. The fair will also feature exhibitions from the Mulvane art education programs, continuous entertainment, hands-on projects for children and a food and beverage court.

A free shuttle will run both days to ferry patrons to and from the art fair and the Coleman Hawkins Legacy Jazz Festival at the Harley Davidson's Harley Town, 21st and Topeka Blvd. The shuttle hours will be 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The fair is the annual fundraising event of the Mulvane Art Museum and is hosted by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum. Fair sponsors are Bartlett & West Engineers Inc., Capitol Federal Savings, IMA, Inc., Kansas Secured Title, Security Benefit Group of Companies, Topeka Capital Journal and Washburn University. Entertainment is sponsored by Capital City Bank.
