The no-nonsense personality of Barbara Cleary is aptly demonstrated in her straightforeward paintings.  No artiface, no gimmicks, just pure, exquisite landscapes.  A great admirer of Monet, and some of the California plein air painters, Cleary says"I try to push the color, and some of the principles involved in color theory, in the direction that I think these artists would have if they were still painting today
